About Tarah New:
Tarah New was born and raised far from the bright lights and opportunities of Hollywood.  For the first 18 years of her life she called a small town in South Texas home.  She grew up with music as a constant part of her life.  Before she was 2 years old she was shaking her diaper to the beat of Elvis records on a regular basis.  She maintains she hasn't gone a day without singing since she was about 2. As a young child, family members would ask her "Tarah, what do you want to be when you grow up?", "A singer", she'd reply.  And her answer never changed.  Growing up in Texas, she was always involved in performing on stage.  She sang in school and church choirs from elementary school to college.  In college she majored in vocal music education and was classically trained to sing opera.  There was just something about music that summoned her from a young age and never let her go.  At the tender age of 10 years old she was selected to sing in a National Honor Choir performance held in Baltimore, Maryland.  She was the only singer in Texas selected.  With her flight, hotel, and meals paid for she got a taste of what the life of a professional singer was like.  After Baltimore, she was selected for countless lead performances all over South Texas from her childhood into her young adulthood.  Her performances ranged from singing the National Anthem at local Veteran's Day parades to being the headlining entertainer for Cinco De Mayo celebrations in front of thousands.  Her face and name became a fixture in the local newspaper, and she won many awards for her singing and dancing talents.  In 2005 she recorded her first album "Tarah New: Hopeless Romantic".  The album of classic love songs quickly gained both local and international attention.  Her album has been sold to fans all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, U.K., Japan, China, Germany, Australia, Spain, Brazil, Turkey... and countless other countries.  Hundreds of emails have poured in from fans who have been touched by her music.  Many brides-to-be have written to Tarah to inform her that they will be walking down the isle to one of her love song covers.  In 2006, Tarah moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her singing career.  Less then 6 months after she moved, she was asked to be a lead singer in an all girl Pop/ R&B group managed by a very reputable name with Sony.  The group performed in several venues all over Southern California and thrilled crowds by the thousands with their singing, harmonizing, and hot dance routines.  During this time, Tarah gained the support and love of many fans of all ages.  After a year, though, she decided to branch out and concentrate on her solo career.  She was performing religiously and working diligently on putting together a new solo album of original music, when she was presented with an opportunity she couldn’t refuse.  Two of her good friends, Eric Johnson and Danny Jacobson invited her to join a group they had just started: an acoustic/ hip hop group called “ShyTown”.  Once she heard the songs and the original sound, she was sold.  After she joined, Shytown was offered three independent record deals, made it to the third round on the summer's America's Got Talent, filmed a pilot for a TV show called "Unfinished Business" with Suge Knight, performed at the Disney Hollywood Winterfest opening for Demi Lovato, and played various other shows in venues all around Hollywood and L.A.  They were interviewed by Starshine Magazine, and nominated for the 2009 Starshine Music Awards.  They were also honored by up and coming Director & Producer, Ilke Yucesan, to be the chosen talent for his latest music video production.  Tarah is once again branching out to concentrate on her solo career.  She is extremely excited to see where this new adventure will take her!
